Hi Paul & Gwen,
Just a quick note to say thank you very much for a wonderful day on Saturday- please pass on our thanks to your lovely wife and everyone that worked hard to make our day out special. I have had a steady stream of people coming to my office this morning saying how much they enjoyed the day - the bar-b-que was a definite hit, as was the lovely morning & afternoon teas we had at 'Yesteryear Cafe'. The painting demonstration by Wayne Edgerton had everyone amazed at how a picture can come to life.
However, for me especially the jet boat trip was an absolutely wonderful experience. We are so very lucky to have such a beautiful untouched area in our backyard. Everybody thought the experience was fabulous.

The jet boat down the river an absolute buzz – very pleased to be in a purpose built boat with someone who new it so well. The intermediate stops and informal but informative chats a nice touch. Pretty exciting experiencing a new river downstream first, and in such different bush terrain with lots of challenges.
The lodge amazing - a total surprise and delight.
Wonderful bush tracks, coastline, swing bridges and all.
The old tram/rail way and viaducts inspirational – human endeavour!
Great walk to the viaducts and back.
Even the contrast of the rough lake home meant the finish was not an anti climax!
All in all an absolutely neat trip.

It was fantastic to be able to visit this natural unspoilt area of New Zealand. It needs to be seen to be appreciated. Your well run and organised trip made this remote area accessible. The whole day was a wonderful experience starting with the jet boat ride across the lake, to going down such a fast and free flowing river, to local food. The venison steaks went down a treat. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to take the helicopter flight to view the largest wooden viaduct in the southen hemisphere Many thanks for the memorable day.

We would like to thank you for the great time we had on our trip with you. We thought you ran a fantastic operation and we were really impressed with the whole tour. I hope its ok but i have posted a review of the trip on a site called Tripadvisor. You maynot remember us but we are the four Aussies you took out the day DOC were doing the pre bait feeding with all the road blocks, escorts in etc. We still laugh about that. I am pleased to report that the monitoring found your guiding to be consistent with the conditions of your concessions to the extent that it was possible to observe these.

I would just like to say on behalf of myself and my group a huge thank you.Jet boating the Wairaurahiri river was such a memorable experience, not only did we get the pleasure of observing you navigate the river with extreme precision but we also received a very detailed commentary of some of the history of the river. I couldn't recommend a trip with Paul down the Wairaurahiri River more highly; You will get to experience a very unique part of New Zealand with a fantastic host. Oh and he's not a bad cook either.
